A year has passed since the liberation of the "Sanctuary," where Subaru Natsuki fended off Elsa and her relentless attacks and fulfilled a contract with Beatrice in the battle against the Great Rabbit. The Emilia camp, united and strengthened, was enjoying peaceful days as they prepared for the Royal Selection. However, this peace was abruptly shattered by the arrival of a single letter delivered by a messenger. The letter was an invitation addressed to Emilia from Anastasia, one of the Royal Selection candidates, inviting them to Priestella, one of Lugnica's five major cities, known as the Watergate City. Accepting the invitation, Subaru and his companions set out for Priestella, where they were met with various reunions: one unexpected, one unintended, and one inevitable. Beneath the surface, malicious forces were stirring, and an unprecedented crisis loomed over them. Once again, the boy must face a harsh and unforgiving fate.
