High school student Touga Mimori, who is invisible in class, and his peers are unexpectedly called by a goddess to take on heroic roles in a fantastical world. Although the majority of them demonstrate remarkable abilities with S-rank, A-rank, and so forth, Mimori only possesses an E-rank, the lowest rank. Mimori is banished to a dungeon where there is almost no chance of survival because the goddess believes he is useless. But as it happens, his abilities are more unusual than they first appear to be. Then, this insignificant adolescent decides to take revenge on the goddess with giving up his nature.
